A first headline date is worth covering properly because the band will never look like that again. Bell Vaults is a brick cellar with a low stage, so everything was shot from below at 24mm with the ceiling in frame, which is the only honest way to photograph a room that size.

Thirty-three frames went to the band and their booker the following morning; six of them ended up on the poster for the autumn run.
