Before you write

The things everyone asks

How fast do the pictures actually arrive?
Selects land within four hours of the last song - usually while the crew is still loading out - and the full edit is with you by ten the next morning. On festival days I file in batches roughly twenty minutes behind each set, because a picture of a band who finished three hours ago is a picture nobody posts.
Who owns the frames, and what can we do with them?
I keep the copyright, you get a licence. A single night comes with twelve months of editorial and social use; festival days come with three years including marketing; season deals are unlimited term. Reselling, merchandise and third-party advertising are separate conversations and always possible.
Do you shoot the crowd as well as the stage?
Always, and it is usually the half you end up using. Bands know what they look like. What nobody has a picture of is two thousand people doing the same thing at the same moment, which is the thing that sells next year's tickets.
What happens if the date moves or the show is pulled?
Move it and we simply move it, no charge, as long as I am free on the new date. Cancel inside seven days and it is half the fee, because that night is gone from my diary. Cancel earlier and there is nothing to pay.
Can you work to our accreditation and pit rules?
Yes, and I read them before I arrive. Three-song limits, no-flash rules, wedge lines, tour-manager approval, embargoed images - all normal. I hold standing accreditation at forty-one UK and European venues, and public liability cover if your paperwork needs it.
Do you travel?
Across the UK and Ireland as a matter of course, and Europe on tour legs. Anything beyond the north of England is charged at cost for travel and, if the get-out is after the last train, a room.
